Washington and Old Dominion

Post by maxlyons » Tue Jun 17, 2008 9:41 am

The Washington and Virginia area has a superb network of trails, many of which have been converted from old railroads, for non-motorized travel. Here are three panoramas (two using TuFuse) from a bicycle ride last night along the Washington and Old Dominion trail in Virginia after a summer thunderstorm.

The first two pictures were taken only about 5 miles from the Whitehouse in the middle of Washington, DC.

Hey Max, #2 is great! The alignments of the old tracks are perfect for biking. Gentle curves, and mild hills.

cheers, Darcy

Thanks...yes the bike trails that have been converted from railroads are much easier (i.e. flatter) than the rolling hills found elsewhere in the area.
